A36 traffic diverted after car and motorcycle crash
Traffic is being diverted around the A36 in Wiltshire after a serious collision. The major road has been closed since around 1.20pm today (Tuesday, September 17), when a crash between a motorcycle and a car was reported near Warminster.
According to National Highways, the road closure is in place between the B3414 for Norton Bavant and the A350 for Warminster. Drivers have been warned to expect delays in the area throughout the day.
Traffic is being diverted around the road closure via local roads, National Highways has said. Posting about the incident on social media, the organisation said: "The #A36 in #Wiltshire is closed in both directions between the #B3414 #NortonBavant and the #A35 0 #Warminister due to a serious collision."

Traffic monitor Inrix reports the road has reopened northbound, but the southbound direction remains closed. "A36 Southbound closed, slow traffic due to serious accident, a car and a motorcycle involved from Crockerton turn off (Warminster) to B3414 (Cotley Hill roundabout, Warminster ).
"Sensors show the northbound side has now reopened, but the southbound side remains shut," it reports.
