A38 closed at Manadon due to concern for welfare incident

A stretch of the A38 was closed due to a concern for welfare incident this afternoon, Wednesday, November 27. Devon and Cornwall Police was called to the scene at Manadon at 2.15pm.

Police said a man was on the wrong side of the railings on a footbridge. Officers engaged with him before bringing him to safety at around 3pm.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at 2.15pm today, Wednesday 27 November, to a report of concern for the welfare of a man on the A38 at Manadon, Plymouth, who was on the wrong side of the railings on a footbridge.

"Officers engaged with the man, who came to safety shortly before 3pm. A road closure was put in place in the area while emergency services were on the scene. This was lifted at around 3pm."
