A55 trucker's cab 'smelt of alcohol' during routine police check
When a police officer saw a HGV parked up in a layby on the A55 they stopped to check if the driver was okay. The truck was parked up near Abergwyngregyn on Sunday evening.
But while speaking to the driver the officer noticed the smell of alcohol in the cab. He requested a breath test from the driver.
The driver provided a reading of 140 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath (the legal limit is 35) so he was arrested and taken to custody. He failed to then provide while in custody and has now been charged.
