Abbey Clancy reveals 'new baby' addition to her family but rules out fifth child
Model and presenter Abbey Clancy, hailing from a sizeable family herself, is quite at home with her brood of four children, whose ages range from five to 13, alongside her husband, the former England footballer Peter Crouch. Yet despite the bustling household, Abbey expressed in jest the likelihood of adding another member to their clan.
Speaking humorously with Closer Magazine, Abbey Clancy quipped, "I've got a new baby. He arrived last week, my stray kitten from Portugal. He's the only newborn that's going to be in our house, I think."
The couple has consistently maintained that they're content with their family of six.
In a candid chat on Lorraine Kelly's show back in 2019, Abbey explained the challenges of parenting four youngsters: "Having four children, spreading my time equally between the four is hard."
Peter Crouch has also chimed in on the matter during his appearance on 'Save Our Summer', hosted by Laura Whitmore, saying: "Oh 100% [we are not having another child]," before expressing contentment with his family, reports the Liverpool Echo.
As a devoted mother, Abbey shared her adoration for parenthood on her podcast 'Therapy Couch', noting: "The best thing about being a parent is creating these lives and bringing them into the world... It's unconditional love. You don't know anything like it," However, she did concede that at times, the chaos of family life can be overwhelming, saying: "When I'm at home and the kids are driving me crazy, I want to go to work and be on my own for an hour."
Abbey's eldest daughters, Sophia Ruby and Liberty Rose, have occasionally joined her at work. They began their foray into modelling by participating in Frozen Fashion Week in 2020, where they were styled as the beloved Disney characters Anna and Elsa, and had their photos taken by renowned fashion photographer Mary McCartney, daughter of Sir Paul.
Abbey insists she's not an overbearing mother: "I wouldn't force them into doing it, [modelling]. But if it's something they want to do then I'll support them all the way. I think it's important to be really happy and to have fun."
