Aberdeen face a nervy wait to discover how long they will be without star striker Pape Habib Gueye after he missed Saturday's 2-1 win against Dundee.

Gueye, who is the top scorer for the Dons with six, suffered a training ground injury in the lead up to the trip to Dens Park.

And there is genuine concern that the Senegalese forward could have an issue that would rule him out for months rather than weeks, writes the Daily Record.

Speaking after the Dundee victory, Reds boss Jimmy Thelin revealed that he will have to wait until the start of next week to learn Gueye's fate.

He said: "I have to wait. It is better to see the experts and then we can go with an announcement. We will see what happens on Monday."

Gueye returned from a successful loan at Kristiansund and has become a top player for the Dons who extended their winning run to 12 games in all competitions.

Their sixth league victory sees them maintain their perfect start ahead of next week's visit from Hearts, and Gueye has been a huge part of their 100% start.
