Aberdeen hit with new snow and ice weather warnings to last for three days
Aberdeen has been hit with a new weather warning for snow and ice lasting for three days this week.
The Met Office yellow alert will come into effect at 4pm today and will last until 10am on Wednesday (November 20). Residents have been warned to prepare for "a chance of disruption and difficult travel conditions due to snow and ice".
The warning takes in the entirety of Aberdeen and Aberdenshire, with affected areas including the entirety of the north of Scotland.

It comes after Aberdeen woke up to a city dusted with snow this morning after a flurry fell on the north-east overnight, with a weather warning issued over the weekend, from Sunday until Monday morning. Gritters were are out in force this morning, earlier than planned when some roads in the north of Aberdeenshire were left blocked now the snow fall.
The Met Office warning read: "Snow and hail showers will affect northern parts of Scotland at times, becoming heavier and more frequent on Monday night, through much of Tuesday and then overnight into Wednesday morning.
"2 to 5cm of snow is likely to accumulate quite widely, with up to 10cm in some places by the end of Tuesday, and perhaps 15 to 20cm accumulating above 300 metres.
"Showers may be sleety at times along north-facing coasts, although icy surfaces are likely at times."
Aberdeen City Council confirmed gritting teams were out on the primary routes from the early hours of this morning.
The local authority said: "We gritted the primary routes (the main roads which are about 50% of the city's roads network) from about 4.45am, due to the weather forecast. Road surface temperatures are below 0C along with the snow.
"The priority 1 pavements (Union Street and nearby) were also gritted early morning, too. Please take care today as it will be icy in many places and heed police advice for travelling.
"We have started to grit secondary routes around the city and priority 2 pavements. The priority 2 pavements are treated on area basis, with a priority given to high footfall streets and areas around public facilities, medical facilities, and shopping areas.
"An update to come soon which areas we are gritting secondary routes and also priority 2 pavements. You can find out where big community salt bins are and grit bins at https://orlo.uk/Dr9q0. Please remember we cannot be everywhere at once around the city."
