A new Indian restaurant is set to open in Aberdeen's Union Square in the new year, with preparations ongoing for the big launch.

Singh Street Café, who specialise in Indian brunch and dinner, currently have a venue in Edinburgh city centre, and are set to expand to the north-east.

Boarding currently surrounding the new restaurant has also given shoppers a teaser at what to expect, with pictures of some of their dishes along with the words "coming soon" written on the front.

CTD Scotland are currently preparing the new venue, with a post on Instagram showing work going on at the site of what was previously a Chiquitos restaurant.

The venue promises to serve customers "homemade, family-style dining inspired by Punjabi street food."

The latest opening comes in a busy year for the new brand, with their Edinburgh restaurant having only welcomed its first customers in September.

Plans were also recently put to the city council for Aberdeen's first Wingstop outlet at the shopping centre.
