Aberdeenshire Stagecoach bus 'crashes' into field as drivers face icy conditions
A bus has crashed into an Aberdeenshire field this morning as drivers tackle icy conditions.
Images show the Stagecoach bus came to rest half way up a field on the B9170 near New Deer on Wednesday morning (November 27) after freezing temperatures gripped the north-east overnight.
It is understood the driver was uninjured in the incident and there were no passengers on board at the time of the crash. Arrangements have been made to recover the vehicle.

Police have urged drivers to exercise caution on the roads, with their warning coming after a second incident near Fraserburgh which saw a man taken to hospital following a crash on the A950 at New Pitsligo.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.15am on Wednesday, 27 November, 2024 we were called to a single vehicle crash on the A950 near New Pitsligo.
"Emergency services attended and one man was taken to hospital by ambulance. Recovery was arranged."
A spokesperson for Stagecoach North Scotland said: "We can confirm that one of our vehicles operating out of service was involved in a minor incident this morning due to icy roads.
"There were no passengers on board and no injuries were reported. Safety is our absolute priority, and we will investigate the full circumstances involved."
A post on Police Scotland's North East Facebook warned drivers of challenging conditions in the Elgin area, as they cautioned drivers to take care on the roads.
The statement reads: "Please take care when driving this morning in and around the Elgin area due to some frozen roads.
"Increase the distance between you and the vehicle ahead and allow extra time for your journey."
