Aberdeenshire weather warning for snow and ice as temperatures to plummet this weekend
A weather warning or snow and ice has been issued for parts of Aberdeenshire and temperatures are set to plummet this weekend.
The yellow warning is set to come into effect on Sunday (November 17) at 4pm and will continue well into Monday morning, ending at 11am on November 18. It takes in areas such as Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Banff.
The Met Office is warning residents in affected areas to prepare for "ice and some snow leading to slippery surfaces and difficult travel conditions".

It comes as temperatures are set to drop across the north-east. In Aberdeen, residents will see temperatures of around 0 degrees. Meanwhile, in Braemar temperatures could plummet as low as -3 degrees with snow also forecast on Monday (November 18).
The Met Office warning reads: "During Sunday, showers will turn increasingly wintry through the day with hail, sleet and some snow. Little snow is likely to settle at low levels by day, but through the evening and overnight, 1 to 3 cm may accumulate in some places, whilst 5 to 10 cm is possible on high ground above 300 metres by Monday morning.
"Meanwhile, as temperatures fall overnight, ice is likely to form on untreated surfaces."
