Abi Titmuss has announced that she is expecting a baby with her actor fiancé Ari Welkin.

She announced the news just weeks before the pair are due to tie the knot, adding that she had been waiting a while to talk publicly about the happy news.

"I'm 15 weeks pregnant. I'm so excited about becoming a mum for the first time," the 41-year-old told Hello! magazine.

"I'd been bursting to share the news sooner but we hadn't had the all-clear from the doctor so I had to hold back.

"I found out I was expecting in the second week of January and it has been very hard keeping it a secret until now."

The pair got together after meeting each other on the set of soap Days of Our Lives three years ago, eventually getting engaged last May.

Speaking of the wedding, Abi explained: "I bought my bridal gown last summer. I chose the style specifically to accommodate my bump if I fell pregnant. It's absolutely beautiful.

"Being here in LA, meeting Ari, and getting pregnant has totally changed my life. I've always believed that when you meet the right guy, anything is possible."

Abi originally shot to fame back in 2003 as a glamour model and TV personality, and was well-known for a high-profile relationship with John Leslie.

She previously said of her new life with Ari: "I'm engaged to the love of my life and I'm ready to be a mum. Having children has always been really important to me.

"I had a crazy couple of years when I was modelling, I had fun and went nuts. I made those 20-something mistakes in the public eye and I did a lot of growing up.

"Now I know when I go into an audition over here they are not judging me except for what they see on my résumé. To turn it around and to really believe in myself, that's amazing."
