Thousands of primary school children across Northern Ireland will receive their transfer test results this weekend. The Schools' Entrance Assessment Group (SEAG) test took place in November 2024, and consisted of two papers sat on two Saturdays, two weeks apart.

Each paper featured English and mathematics questions, which were presented as a mixture of a multiple choice and open questions. Irish-language speaking students could also take the test in Gaeilge.

Before the SEAG tests, there were two separate exams children in Northern Ireland sat - the AQE and the GL. These tests have run their course and were replaced by SEAG tests last year.

This Saturday, January 25, thousands of children will receive their test results, which will help determine which secondary school they will attend. All of the 63 post-primary schools in Northern Ireland which use academic criteria within their year 8 Admissions Criteria are members of SEAG.

How can I access transfer test results?

The results for SEAG exams are accessed online through the seagni.co.uk website. To access results, you can log on to your dashboard on the site.

Results can be access on the “Statement of Outcomes” section on your account. SEAG have said they aim to have all results available by 8am.

The results are based on your child’s total overall performance across the two papers which make up the SEAG Entrance Assessment. The key outcomes which are most likely to be used by SEAG schools within their Year 8 Admissions Criteria are the Total Standardised Age Score (TSAS) and the Band.

What if I can't get logged onto the SEAG website?

Log out of your browser and re start your device if you can. Then log into the website, and type in your email address (Do Not use autofill). If you have forgotten your password then select forgot password and follow instructions. Alternatively, you could try a different device.
