According to Spotify, THIS is the most popular song on running playlists

In the run up to the 45,000 runners taking on the virtual London Marathon this weekend, music streaming service Spotify have updated the UK’s most popular running playlist to eight hours to support all runners as they take on 26.2 miles.

Spotify have added more than five extra hours of tracks to their Running UK playlist, making it eight hours long in total in support of the ‘back of pack’ runners. As runners gear up to the big day, Spotify have seen more than 25,000 streams of London Marathon inspired playlists in the past month amongst UK listeners. The streaming platform also reported a 36% rise in streams on 26 April 2020, when the 40th race was originally set to take place.

Yet if you’re planning on putting together your own playlist on Sunday, the top five most popular songs included in running playlists in the UK on Spotify are:

  2. Titanium” by David Guetta featuring Sia

  3. Can't Hold Us” by Macklemore featuring Ryan Lewis

  4. Lose Yourself” by Eminem

  5. Wake Me Up” by Avicii
