In a Facebook post from Totton Police on Thursday, a spokesperson for the force said: "A male has been dealt with for handling stolen goods, after officers made contact with the male who promptly returned it to Totton police station.

"If you are approached in the street by someone selling items from a bag, or the back of a car etc, ask yourself; Where has this come from? WHO has this come from? Because the likelihood is, it’s stolen.
