Actor James Hollcroft has been found dead days after going missing as his family paid tribute. The 26-year-old known for his role in the television series Como dice el dicho (As the Saying Goes), was tragically found dead near his home in Mexico City, reports the Mirror.

He had been missing since September 3, and after days of worry, his devastated sister confirmed his passing last week. The details surrounding James' death have not yet been confirmed by local authorities or his family.

James went missing while returning to his home in Tizapán, according to his sister, Jane Hollcroft. The actor had been studying at the Artistic Education Centre, a prestigious institution run by Televisa, one of Mexico’s leading media organisations.

His school also paid tribute, posting on Facebook: "Thank you for the good times we shared during your acting training. We will carry you in our hearts and memories. You will always be part of our CEA family. Farewell, dear James Hollcroft."

James' close friend Luis Duval shared a now-deleted post, saying: "I love you so much. I'm going to miss you. Fly high, my boy. I will always remember how great you are."

His brother-in-law, Aruto Avila, added: "I wish this was all just a dream. Thank you for being the brother, the uncle, and the son that you were. We are going to miss you so much.

"This breaks my heart. Though the curtain lowers here, I know you’re in heaven, performing that great show you always spoke about."

In addition to his role on Como dice el dicho, which was based on real-life stories, James had also appeared in the 11th season of Dime que sí (Tell Me Yes), a show that is currently airing its 16th season.
