Actor Steve Martin Becomes A Father At 67

Parenthood star Steve Martin has become a father for the first time at the age of 67.

The famously private star and his 41-year-old wife, Anne Stringfield, welcomed the baby in December, a representative for the couple confirmed.

No additional details were given.

The New York Post first reported the story on Wednesday.

The couple are said to have kept the pregnancy a secret, but were recently spotted near their home in Los Angeles with the newborn child, the paper said.

"They worked hard to have the baby," an anonymous source was quoted as saying.

Martin is a former Saturday Night Live cast member and star of films including Father Of The Bride and It's Complicated.

He is also a novelist, musician and comedy writer.

He and Ms Stringfield wed in a surprise ceremony in 2007.

Guests, including Diane Keaton and Tom Hanks, had only been told they were coming to a party.
