Actresses are reportedly set to make a stand at next year’s Golden Globes by wearing black gowns in protest against sexual harassment in the industry.

Hollywood has been rocked by allegations of sexual misconduct since claims against Harvey Weinstein emerged earlier this year.

According to People magazine, several high-profile actresses will wear black to the January ceremony as a visual statement.

“All female actresses attending the Globes are protesting by just wearing black gowns,” the magazine reports.

The dress-code is reportedly going to be adopted by both award presenters and nominees, which include Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone and Meryl Streep.

Some expect black gowns to dominate the awards season and red carpets, with many star-studded events in the next few months including the Oscars on March 4.

Over the last few months, allegations involving Weinstein as well as other big names including Kevin Spacey and Geoffrey Rush have come to light in a scandal rocking the showbiz world.

Most recently, actress Salma Hayek wrote in the New York Times claiming Weinstein harassed her and, at one point, threatened to kill her.

In her piece, she called the disgraced 65 year old a “monster” as Weinstein continues to “unequivocally deny” all allegations of non-consensual sex.
