New acts announced for Burnley's Christmas light switch-on this weekend

New acts and performers have been announced for this weekend's Christmas lights switch-on in Burnley.

Burnley Believes Christmas lights switch-on will make a return this weekend as the town is light up in festive joy. New guests will do the honours of turning on the lights, with former Lionness goalkepper Rachel Brown-Finnis and Burnley FC mascots Bertie and Bella Bee taking to the stage.

The event will begin at 12pm, with the special guests taking to the stage at 5.30pm. Burnley's streets will be full of festive cheer as families can enjoy a hose of Christmas activities including crazy golf, face painting, balloon modelling, a fun fair and performance from Punch and Judy.

Lilo and Stitch will also make an appearance and families can explore a Festive Trail across the town. Performing classic yuletide songs will be the Burnley Silver Alliance Brass Brand and other performers will entertain the crowd too.

These include social media’s Ice-Cream Twins, singer Channy, Burnley FC mascots Bertie and Bella Bee, guitarist Andrew Gilmore, vocalist Jess McGlinchey and Burnley College Performing Arts. An Interactive Elf Show and Princess Takeover Show will mesmerise families, while local dance acts will take to the stage, including Next Level Dance, Ashworth’s Dance Academy, DLN Dance and Scoop!.

Burnley Panto Society will also delight audiences with a sneak peek of their upcoming production of Peter Pan.
