Actually, Kim Kardashian And Kanye West DIDN'T Break The Law By Releasing Taylor Swift’s Conversation

Sorry Taylor Swift, but it turns out that you can’t sue Kim Kardashian and Kanye West for releasing audio evidence of you approving Kanye’s controversial ‘Famous’ lyrics.

Things are going from bad to worse, aren’t they?

According to earlier reports, Taylor was keen to prosecute Kimye for recording and subsequently releasing her phone conversation with Kanye and thus proving that she had lied about the rapper not seeking approval.

However, TMZ have now revealed that as there were other people in the room and on the phonecall, including music producer Rick Rubin, she doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on.

The site report that under Californian law taping a “confidential” conversation without the other person knowing is a crime, but it is not a crime to record conversations that “may be overheard”.

After listening to the full tapes it is evident that Taylor was aware that there were other people in the conversation as Rubin and other members of the crew speak.

In which case, Kanye did not violate any laws by recording the exchange.

However, Taylor probably did violate a law when she uploaded a recording of Joe Jonas breaking up with her to YouTube back in 2008…

When 'Famous’ was first released Taylor’s representative said in a statement: “Kanye did not call for approval but to ask Taylor to release his single Famous on her Twitter account.

"She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous’.”

And at the Grammys in February Taylor took to the stage and slammed Kanye for the song, which include the lyrics: “I feel like may and Taylor might still have sex, I made that b*tch famous”.

However, in the recording it is clear that Kanye did call Taylor to approve the lyrics and that she actually found them funny and “obviously tongue in cheek” - not misogynistic as her rep previously stated.

Taylor has since changed her tune, insisting in response to Kim’s leak that the only part of the lyrics that she has ever had an issue with was the term “that b*tch”.

Needless to say, very few people are convinced
