Adam Pearson is confident that a 'brighter future' awaits Hull FC after some 'fundamental changes' to the club. The Black and Whites have restructured their performance department on and off the field, with new arrivals sought from the backroom staff to players to coaching to a director of rugby in Richie Myler.

Myler has been overseeing those changes, with Hull so far signing nine new players for the 2025 season, as well as appointing a new head coach, John Cartwright, assistant coach, Andy Last, and head physio, Andy Shea. Pearson also confirmed, as per Hull Live's reports, that the club are still looking to add to their backroom staff, with the understanding that the club have made further appointments to the conditioning department.

Thanking fans and club partners for their support throughout the season, which ended with a 22-4 defeat to Catalans Dragons on Saturday afternoon, Pearson is hoping those wholesale changes will improve the whole club next season, with the chairman branding the 2024 season on field performance as 'embarrassing' with Hull finishing joint-bottom of Super League, avoiding the wooden spoon on points difference.

"I must say a heartfelt thank you to everybody who has supported us throughout what has been an incredibly challenging year," Pearson said: "From our loyal members to all of our fantastic partners and corporate guests, the level of support we have received through these turbulent times has really impressed me, and for that, I thank every single one sincerely.

"Let me be clear; there is no doubt in mind that there must be fundamental changes made to our organisation, regarding both on- and off-field personnel. The board share my views that we cannot allow this to continue. The building blocks are in place to ensure that the team will look and feel significantly different next year in comparison to this season. We have already made good headway on the recruitment front for 2025, with the recent signings of Jordan Rapana and Aidan Sezer, who will without question add valuable experience to our roster under the stewardship of John Cartwright.

"Andy Last will also return to the club in 2025 to work under John. As somebody who understands the club inside out, paired with the coaching experience he has acquired over the years, I feel it is a shrewd appointment. Also, with experience of working at organisations such as Manchester United, Cardiff City, and Newcastle Falcons, we welcome Andy Shea to the club as our new head physiotherapist. All the while, we are not resting on our laurels and we continue in our endeavours to bring more new faces to our backroom staff.

"These changes have been brought about to ensure that the club does not have to endure another season quite like this again. It has been an embarrassing season for the club on the field, and I wholeheartedly understand the frustration of the supporters and our partners in that regard, which is why the senior management group at the club is working incredibly hard to pull the club back up from the canvas and on the rise again."

With changes made to every area of performance, Pearson says he is 'optimistic' once again for what lies ahead, with a core of promising young players aiming to lead the club into the future alongside the experienced signings.

He added: "There is a bright future ahead for Hull FC. Of that, I am confident. The work that has been carried out behind the scenes in the last few months has filled me with renewed optimism and vigour ahead of the 2025 campaign, despite the frustration of ending the season this year in such a disappointing manner on the field.

"As the club anthem goes, we roam the range together, in any kind of weather. Thank you once again for all of your support and I hope to see you back with us again in what I hope will be a much more enjoyable 2025."
