The Addams Family is set to get a live-action reboot from Tim Burton, the creepiest and kookiest of all them all.

In news that is long overdue (seriously, why hasn't this happened yet?), The Addams Family is set to be re-imagined for a new live-action TV series, and the Nightmare Before Christmas creator is believed to be in talks to executive produce and direct it.

According to Deadline, Burton is hoping to bring his spin on the beloved franchise to life alongside Smallville developers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who will serve as head writers on the series.

The Addams Family, which already has two live-action TV series under its spooky belt, was brought to life by American cartoonist Charles Addams in the '30s, and has spawned a cult film series as well as a 2019 animated movie.

Burton's Addams Family is reportedly eyeing up Netflix for its new home, and is rumoured to be set in the modern day from the perspective of Wednesday Addams. Wednesday's take on 2020? It's what we all need.

In other news, a sequel to last year's animated Addams Family recently confirmed that It Chapter 2's Bill Hader will be joining the cast.

Starring the likes of Star Wars' Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Snoop Dogg, the second movie is scheduled for release just in time for Halloween next year – October 8, 2021.
