Adele reportedly bought up an entire stock of greeting cards with her face on the front from a London department store.

The pop superstar surprised staff when she showed up at Peter Jones in Sloane Square on Wednesday and headed to the greeting cards section.

But instead of grabbing a birthday card, it seems that the 28-year-old had her sights set on a card showing a cartoon of her, under the caption “Hello, it’s me.”

According to reports , the singer grabbed the entire stock and brought them to the till, saying that she was going to send one to all of her friends.

“Adele walked right up to the shelf and took the lot. She found it hilarious,” a source told The Sun.

“The staff couldn’t believe she was in there, let alone her choice of purchase. She said she was going to send them to all her friends.”

Adele is currently on a hiatus in her mammouth world tour ahead of a series of London gigs at Wembley this summer.

She recently admitted that she was unsure if she would ever tour again as it sometimes made her feel ‘vulnerable’.

“Touring isn't something I'm good at – applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable. I don't know if I will ever tour again,” she said on stage in New Zealand.

“The only reason I've toured is you. I'm not sure if touring is my bag. My greatest accomplishment in my career is this tour.”
