Adele Roberts has been revealed as one of the 10 contestants on this year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

The DJ has her own show – the 4am to 6.30am slot – and regularly covers shows on BBC Radio One for the likes of Clara Amfo and Rickie Haywood-Williams, Melvin Odoom and Charlie Hedges.

Ahead of her stint Down Under, she’s revealed she is scared of spiders – not ideal if you’re living in a jungle for three weeks.

She first came on to our screens as a contestant on Big Brother

The 40-year-old, from Southport in Merseyside, was working as a DJ and also a personal assistant when she headed into the house aged just 23.

During the show, she formed a close friendship with Alex Sibley, who developed feelings for her, but she later told him that she was bisexual and had a girlfriend. The duo remained friends and later returned to the Big Brother house in series 8 for a task with Sibley.

She was the sixth contestant evicted and left the house on day 43.

She’s not just a Radio One DJ

Aside from her Early Breakfast Show, Roberts has a number of presenting credits, including FA People’s Cup on BBC iPlayer & BBC One, London Marathon coverage and commentary during and after the event, the Great Manchester Run on BBC Two and the World BMX Championships in Belgium on BBC Two.

She’s a fan of running

A keen runner herself, she has run the London marathon twice in aid of the Heads Together charity.

She's ready for the food-related bushtucker trials

Roberts, and her actress girlfriend Kate Holderness, run a YouTube channel called Fakeaway Factory where they recreate popular takeaways at home.

But Roberts also proved she is the perfect I’m A Celeb contestant after taking on the challenge of eating insects for Radio 1’s BBC iPlayer documentary, Grub’s Up, earlier this year.
