Adele Regrets Collaborating With Damon Albarn On ‘25′

Legend has it that you should never meet your idols - isn’t that right, Adele?

The singer has admitted that she wishes she hadn’t collaborated with Damon Albarn on her new album ‘25′ because it turned into one of those ‘don’t meet your idol’ moments.

The 27-year-old recently admitted that she’d chucked half of the songs originally written for her new album for being ‘boring’, including collaborations with the likes of Blur’s Damon and Phil Collins.

Damon later told the media that Adele was ‘insecure’ and called her music ‘very middle of the road’.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the ‘Hello’ singer revealed she now regrets hanging out with him.

She explained: “It ended up being one of those ‘don’t meet your idol’ moments. And the saddest thing was that I was such a big Blur fan growing up. But it was sad, and I regret hanging out with him.”

The two never actually finished a single song together, with Adele adding: “No! None of it was right. None of it suited my record.

“He said I was insecure, when I’m the least-insecure person I know. I was asking his opinion about my fears, about coming back with a child involved — because he has a child — and then he calls me insecure?”

Adele openly admitted that she struggled to find inspiration for ‘25′, telling BBC Radio 1: “I wrote a lot of songs that didn’t make the album because they simply weren’t good enough.

“I did pretty much write an album about being a mum, but that’s boring, so I scrapped it. I thought I’d run out of ideas.”

As well as discussing what went into the making of her extremely highly-anticipated new album, Adele also spoke about her #squad and who she’d like to be in it - namely Rihanna. YES PLEASE.

She said: “I’ve heard about a squad. I wish my squad was all supermodels. We are, in our brains. I guess I have my own squad. It’s not as interesting as some of the other squads that are around right now.

“But maybe Rihanna can be in my squad! That would be really cool. Oh, God. She’s life itself, isn’t she? I love her.”

Two artists that have made us wait an absolute age for new music? It’s a squad match made in heaven.
