These adorable photos show Prince George on his first day at the £18,000-a-year prep school where the most important rule is to 'be kind'

The first day of school is always a nerve-racking experience, let alone if it's captured by the paparazzi and watched by the entire nation.
On September 7 a nervous-looking Prince George, accompanied by Prince William, arrived for his first day at the £6,000-a-term Thomas's Battersea co-ed prep school in London.
The pair were met by the head of lower school on arrival, who shook Prince George's hand and led him to his reception classroom.
Kensington Palace released a video of the moment they arrived.

George's smart new uniform consists of navy Bermuda shorts, a v-neck jumper with a red stripe, and light blue shirt underneath, finished off with a pair of black loafers.

It has also been revealed that the prince will be known as George Cambridge at his new school. It was spotted written on his new school bag.

It was announced in March that Prince George would attend the exclusive Thomas's Battersea school come September.

The new school is part of the royal family's move to London. Prince William recently ended his job as an ambulance helicopter pilot in order to concentrate on his royal duties as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip ease out of public life.

The announcement ended long-running speculation that George would follow in his father and uncle Harry's footsteps by attending the prestigious all-boys Wetherby prep school in Notting Hill.

Here's a look at the future King's new school...
It's a Christian school, though it is open to children of all faiths. It teaches 560 boys and girls between the ages of four and 13.

There is a lower, middle and upper school. Art, ballet, drama, IT, French, music and PE are all on the curriculum taught by specialist teachers from day one.

According to the school's website, the most important school rule is to "be kind."
While academic success is important, greater emphasis is placed on the school's core values, which alongside kindness also include courtesy, confidence, humility and learning to be givers, not takers, according to headmaster Simon O'Malley.

According to the Evening Standard, the school is said to have an unwritten rule that discourages pupils from having best friends, in order to stop others from having their feelings hurt.
