Whoever said dogs and owls can’t be best friends?

Noone, probably. But that doesn't stop this unlikely pairing from being adorably brilliant.

New best buds Napoleon the owl and Ingo the Belgian Shepherd do everything together - from taking strolls outside to just chilling out and having a nap.

The pair live with owner Tanja Brandt in Germany, where she has captured their unique bond over the past year.

The images show their remarkable closeness in a series of quirky and comical photos.

Tanja explains: ‘Ingo is not always the calmest dog, however when he is around the birds, and particularly Napoleon, he is very soft and gentle.

Ingo the Belgian Shephard is 2 and a half years old and Napoleon the owl is almost one year.
