Aerial Footage Captures Pacific White-Sided Dolphins Swimming With Humpback Whale

Drone footage captured Pacific white-sided dolphins swimming with a humpback whale in clear California waters on November 11.

Whale-watching tour captain and videographer Domenic Biagini recorded the whale crossing paths with the Pacific white-sided dolphins, a species that visits San Diego each year during the cooler months, according to Biagini.

Biagini said, “They are normally very close to shore in this area, so they don’t often cross paths with humpback whales, as humpback whales are usually further offshore.”

Biagini took the footage for Gone Whale Watching San Diego, his tour company, which uses drones to observe marine life. Credit: Domenic Biagini/Gone Whale Watching San Diego via Storyful
