Aerial Footage Shows Hills Burned by Pine Gulch Fire in Colorado

Aerial footage from Colorado shows the hills burned by the Pine Gulch Fire and fire crews’ containment lines in the Roan Creek Drainage Area on August 25.

The Pine Gulch Fire had burned approximately 135,920 acres and was 47 percent contained as of August 26, according to the incident report.

The Pine Gulch Fire was started by a lightning strike about 18 miles north of Grand Junction on July 31 and is currently the second largest known wildfire in Colorado’s history, according to local media. Credit: Pine Gulch Fire via Storyful
