A helitanker helping to mitigate the spread of the Dixie Fire captured dramatic aerial footage of the wildfire raging across northern California’s Plumas County on July 19.
This video was taken by Northern California Air Operations in an ex-military helicopter capable of dropping 3,000 gallons of water.
As of July 22, the fire was 17% contained and had grown to 103,910 acres (about 162 square miles), officials said. Evacuations orders have been issued for many areas in Plumas County. Credit: Northern California Air Operations (@NorcalAirOps) via Storyful
