"The United Kingdom is a massive part of what we do," Cody said. "They are some of the best wrestling fans on the planet.

"I had always envisioned that my match with Anthony Ogogo was meant to have happened in the United Kingdom and I just would have revelled in that – that whole, fun, patriotic battle."

The match between Cody and Ogogo ended up happening at AEW Double or Nothing, which took place during Memorial Day weekend in the US.

Cody went on to say that, although he can't give a timeframe for when fans should expect an AEW live show in the UK, it will definitely happen.

"If you run a wrestling company and you don't intend on going to the UK, I don't think you really run a wrestling company," he added.

"So it's in our minds, i's just not on the schedule just yet. But we owe it to the United Kingdom, our partners at ITV, and I hope it's something we can accomplish."
