Afghanistan Vet Gets a Huge Bonus From His ‘Undercover Boss’

On Undercover Boss, Jeff Dudan, CEO and founder of Advantaclean, went undercover as “Dusty,” where he met Kyle, one of his lead techs. Kyle, a veteran of the Afghanistan war, now works full time as an Advantaclean lead tech but also goes to school part time for social work, hoping one day to become a counselor to fellow veterans who are suffering from addiction.

Kyle has seen the toll taken on his fellow veterans through self-medication with alcohol and drugs, including a good friend who killed himself in front of his wife and kid. Dudan was so moved by Kyle’s strong work ethic and desire to help others that he gave him $20,000 to use for whatever he wanted. In Kyle’s case, that’s going straight toward his student loans, getting him that much closer to achieving his dream of becoming an addiction counselor.

Undercover Boss airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
