Scott McTominay has been tipped to be one of the best players in Napoli's history just weeks after leaving Manchester United.

The United academy graduate left Old Trafford in August to complete a €30.5million (£25.6million) move to Napoli. McTominay scored 10 goals in 43 appearances for United last season and played a key role in the club's road to winning the FA Cup.

Since leaving for Italy, McTominay already has two goals to his name from midfield across five appearances for Napoli. The 27-year-old has been one of the first names on the team sheet for manager Antonio Conte, playing the full 90 minutes in each of the last three Serie A fixtures.

Just weeks after leaving United, it seems that McTominay is already making a positive impact at Napoli. In fact, the Scotland international has been tipped to be one of the best in his position at the Serie A club by FIFA agent Cristian Bosco Lunedi.

“You can be a winner even if you have different DNA," Lunedi told Italian broadcaster Canale 8. "This Napoli is a cynical Napoli.

"McTominay will still have to prove himself in Italy, but he is potentially one of the best midfielders in Napoli’s history.”

Following the departure of McTominay, United moved to sign Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain to replace the academy graduate in midfield. The €60million (£50.3million) signing has made five appearances for United since moving to Old Trafford but was an unused substitute in each of the last two games against Porto in the Europa League and Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag has used Kobbie Mainoo in the deep-lying midfield role this season, with Christian Eriksen and Casemiro also getting regular minutes. It remains to be seen what game time Ugarte will get after the international break is completed.
