The full-back arrived in January 2010 on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season, but the England U19 and U20 international made just one league appearance as a late substitute in a 3–0 win against Newcastle United at Pride Park Stadium before City boss Roberto Mancini activated a recall clause.

After Derby, Vidal played for Chesterfield (on loan), Panetolikos (in Greece), Stockport County, Rochdale, Tamworth, Wrexham, Guiseley, Bradford Park Avenue, Droylsden and Hednesford Town. His last club was Kettering Town. Is now a football agent and founded the agency firm Visum Sports.

Partly due to injury, Hendrie made only five starts for the Rams before he moved to Brighton on loan for the rest of the season. He left Derby at the end of the campaign.

Derby County paid Stockport County a fee of £750,000 rising to £1m for striker Liam Dickinson in July 2008, but he never made a first-team appearance.

Dickinson had just had an eye-catching season when he was snapped up by the Rams, but the move did not work out.

He was sent out on loan to Huddersfield Town, Blackpool and Leeds United before leaving Derby permanently to join Brighton & Hove Albion a year after his arrival at Pride Park.

Dickinson, now 37, has had a host of clubs since leaving Derby and was last on the books at non-League Droylsden in the Northern Premier League Division One North West.

Ryan Noble

The Sunderland striker had two short loan spells with Derby. The first was in September 2010, but he made just one appearance as a substitute before a back injury forced him to return to Sunderland. He was back at Derby in January 2012 for another loan, but made only two appearances.

He has played for a number of non-League clubs in the north east down the years and the 32-year-old's last club was Durham-based side Billingham Synthonia in Division Two of the Northern League.
