Police have made a number of arrests after 'aggressive' street sellers attacked a man who refused to buy aftershave from them. The incident took place in Peterborough city centre on Thursday (November 14).

A total of four people have been arrested following the incident. Police have also seized perfume and excluded two people from the city centre.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "We received a call yesterday about a member of the public being assaulted by aggressive street sellers in the city centre after he declined being sold aftershave. Two men were arrested and have been given conditional cautions for peddling without a licence. They have also been issued with Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) which excludes them from the city centre for three months.

"Scams such as these tend to become more regular around the festive season. If you are approached by one of these sellers, please decline and move away. It is important to stay vigilant, and if they become aggressive or you feel intimidated, report it to us as soon as you can."
