Police have appealed for information about an incident which left a Coventry man with life-changing injuries. Balwant Mattu was believed to have been attacked in Foleshill in 2017.

Mr Mattu was found with serious head injuries on September 24, 2017. Police said the then 49-year-old was found unresponsive in Broad Street at around 12.25am.

It has been nearly seven years, but the people behind the suspected attack have never been brought to justice. Officers were said to have carried out a full investigation at the time, but no suspects or witnesses were identified.

Detectives are also keen to speak to the occupants of a small light-coloured car that was seen heading in the direction that Mr Mattu was walking, said West Midlands Police. It is believed the occupants 'could hold vital information.'

Anyone with information about the incident has been urged to get in touch with West Midlands Police. Information can also be given to Crimestoppers.
