Yahoo News AGT judges left shocked as trapeze act goes wrong
On Tuesday (July 17) night's America's Got Talent, a high-flying trapeze act stunned the judges-and scared them and the crowd after their act went horribly wrong.
Tyce Nielsen and Mary Wolfe, a husband and wife team who perform as Duo Transcend, initially had everything go perfectly. The judges, including guest judge Ken Jeong, were amazed by their high-flying tricks and pyrotechnics. And so were their 2-year-old son and his grandmother, who were sitting in the audience watching everything.
Then Tyce, who is nearly blind from a progressive eye disease, put on a blindfold for a final trick-but ended up not being able to hold on to Mary's legs during the stunt. She fell to the ground, and the audience and judges were shocked. And that's when Entertainment Tonight reports the show cut to a commercial break.
Once the show came back, Mary got up from a thick safety mat and waved, letting everyone know she was okay. They immediately received a standing ovation.

"We would like to try the blindfold trick one more time," Mary requested. But the judges were not having it. "It's not America's Got Perfection," Jeong said. "This is America's Got Talent. No one can do this. I mean, it's okay. It's okay."
"You almost got hurt very badly, and your first thought was, 'Let me do that again,'" Howie Mandel said. "And only on America's Got Talent does that happen." And the two of them got to move on to the live rounds in Hollywood.
"It means so much to us," Mary said. "It's been such a long road to get here, and to be through to the live shows means we're one step closer to the dream."
The latest live mishap comes after a man was shot in the chest by a flaming arrow on the show in 2016.
America's Got Talent airs on NBC in the US and on Netflix in the UK.
