Emma Roberts is jumping out of the fiery Apocalyptic hell that is American Horror Story's latest season and into the wonderful world of figure skating as she nabs the lead role in a new Netflix series.
In a role that's a world apart from witchy Madison Montgomery, Roberts will be playing Olympic figure skating hopeful Kat Baker in Netflix's new series Spinning Out, which has been given a 10-episode order from the streaming giant, Variety reports.
Kat is described as an "up-and-coming, high-level single skater" who's prepared to give up on her Olympic dream after a disastrous fall took her off the competition track.
"When Kat seizes an opportunity to continue her career as a pair skater with a talented bad-boy partner, she risks exposing a fiercely-kept secret that could unravel her entire life," the synopsis continues.
"On and off the ice, Kat and her new partner will face daunting odds, injury to body and soul, financial sacrifice, and even potential mental breakdown on their way to realising their Olympic dream."
The series was created by former competitive figure skater Samantha Stratton, who recently wrote for critically-acclaimed Mr Mercedes.
Roberts is currently reprising her season 3 role of Madison Montgomery in American Horror Story season eight, the big crossover season between season 3's Coven and season 1's Murder House.
She also starred in AHS creator Ryan Murphy's series Scream Queens, and recently appeared in films like We're The Millers, Palo Alto and Little Italy with Hayden Christensen.
American Horror Story: Apocalypse is on Wednesdays on FX in the US, with the UK getting it on FOX and NOW TV two weeks later. Catch up on series 1-6 on Netflix, with season 7 available to buy on Amazon Prime Video.
