Air Ambulance Responds After MP David Amess Stabbed in Essex

Conservative MP Sir David Amess died after being stabbed several times in Essex, England, on Friday, October 15, according to the BBC and fellow politicians, including Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Amess was meeting constituents at a church in Leigh-on-Sea Friday when he was stabbed “several times” and died. Photos and video shared by Lee Jay shows the emergency response scene in Essex.

In a video released by 10 Downing Street on social media, Johnson remembered Amess as one of the “kindest, nicest, most gentle people in politics,” and lauded his work on issues such as animal cruelty, fuel poverty, and endometriosis.

“We’ve lost today a fine public servant, and a much-loved friend and colleague. Our thoughts are very much today with his wife, his children, and his family,” the prime minister said.
