Airline chaos: Family have holiday cancelled THREE times costing them a staggering £7,000

A family-of-four suffered a holiday ordeal from hell - having their trip cancelled THREE times at a cost of more than £7k.

Charlotte Moss, 43, says she was finally able to secure a booking for a hotel in Majorca on her fourth attempt, through WizzAir - for £3,700.

She says that was after she already splashed out £7,200 trying to get a half-term holiday booked.

To add insult to injury, the family got caught in the travel chaos when they eventually got to the airport - with their flight out being delayed for five hours.

And, on their return, they found themselves waiting for their bags for three hours inside the airport until they gave up and decided to get them couriered to their home.

Their bags were then only returned to them four days after they had landed, Charlotte, from Poole, Dorset, claims.

The mum-of-two said: “There was quite a lot of chaos booking the holiday – the agencies take your money and then the booking isn't confirmed.

“It was just awful – we had a lovely time on holiday but panicked about the return journey the whole time.

“As soon as we landed, I knew there was going to be problems – they couldn’t get stairs to the aircraft due to staff shortages and then they didn’t give us a baggage carousel number when we got off."

Charlotte, founder of Belief Botanicals, originally tried to book a half-term getaway from Bournemouth to Majorca for her partner Ben, 43, and teenage sons.

She says she paid Thomas Cook £2,700 for the flights and hotel from Bournemouth to Majorca.

But she says she was then told after six days that the family couldn’t get the return flight they had wanted as there wasn't enough room on the flight back - and they would have to return a couple of days later.
