Airlines Suspend Flights for Seventh Day on La Palma as Volcanic Activity Continues

The Spanish airline Binter Canarias suspended all activity at La Palma’s airport for the seventh day in a row on November 26 due to the volcanic activity.

This footage, recorded by IGME on November 25, shows the hot lava flow advancing on the island near the Cumbre Vieja volcano.

By November 25, lava flows covered about 1,100 hectares (about 2,718 acres), the emergency service 1-1-2 Canarias reported. More than 500 people were housed in hotels and 43 were placed in health centers. Credit: IGME via Storyful
