Airstrike on Idlib Hospital for Women and Children Throws Debris Into Air

Three airstrike hit Al-Rahman Hospital, which specializes in care for women and children in Alteh, a village in Idlib province in Syria, on September 19, opposition media reported.

Step News Agency, an anti-government media outlet, caught one of the airstrikes on the hospital on camera.

Airstrikes also reportedly hit Rahma hospital in Khan Shaykhun and Orient hospital in Kafr Nabl, the Idlib Health Directorate said.

The airstrikes put the hospital out of service. A video posted to the hospital’s Facebook page shows a car burning next to the hospital building.

The Civil Defense Force, also known as the White Helmets, posted a video showing their members using a water truck and hose to extinguish the fire.

Tahrir al-Sham, formerly known as Jabhat al-Nusra, launched a major offensive against Syrian government forces on September 19, after an agreement to create de-escalation zones in Syria was made between Russia, Iran and Turkey in Astana, Kazakhstan, on September 15.
