Police found “a veritable Aladdin’s cave” of stolen goods when they forced entry into the home of a Nottinghamshire drug dealer. Designer clothes - including a near £600 Stone Island coat - booze and electronic items were amongst the items stolen from stores in exchange for cocaine, cannabis, amphetamine and ecstasy, Nottingham Crown Court was told.

More than £10,000 of weed was also found along with more than £2,000 in cash at the address where Kamil Ziebicki lived. Now, the 42-year-old has been put behind bars for his illegal activity.

Jailing him for two-and-a-half years, Judge Stuart Rafferty KC said: “This was an enterprise which had numerous victims. The first were the other drug users who you were prepared to prey on to get drugs for yourself.

“The second victims were the people who suffered as a result of those who left stolen goods to pay for the drugs of which there were a multitude in number. It was a veritable Aladdin’s cave of stolen property of such a quantity it was difficult to put a price on it.

“The streets of this country are virtually full of drugs and anybody who contributes to that misery and evil can expect to go to prison.”

Lucky Thandi, prosecuting, said police forced entry to a house in Newgate Lane, Mansfield, at around 2.30pm on March 2, late year. She said officers had attended the address due to “considerable activity around the property, where it was believed that drugs were being supplied in exchange for stolen goods”.

The prosecutor said no-one was present at the time that officers initially forced entry, though “there was a pot on the hob boiling eggs and so it was plain that someone had been in the address a short time prior”. Miss Thandi said: “The defendant returned to the address a short time later and was arrested. He confirmed that he resided at the address.

“A search was carried out of all of the rooms in the address, including the cellar with vast amounts of goods being recovered, as well as drugs and cash. The total amount of cocaine had a value of up to £250, there was amphetamine worth up to £320 and 107 MDMA tablets (ecstasy) with a value of up to £1,370.

“There was also cannabis worth up to £10,560 depending on how it was sold. The goods recovered from the property included a hoover, perfumes, a VR headset, numerous wireless ear phones, tagged designer clothing, wireless speakers, sim cards, an electric scooter, boxed watch, M&S jewellery, bags of clothing, bags of cosmetics, bottles of whiskey, power banks amongst other things."

The goods which were seized from the address were identified as property which had been stolen from Farmfoods, a B&M Store and Sports Direct. The total value of the goods is unknown though would be estimated to be multiple of thousands – a Stone Island jacket on its own being £599 and a single hoover being £149.

“Alongside the drugs and goods recovered, officers also seized cash totalling £2,085 and a notebook which appeared to contain a tick list.”

Miss Thandi said Ziebecki was arrested and answered “no comment” to the question he was asked. But he later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply both class A and class B drugs as well as handling stolen goods.

He has two previous convictions for two offences. His barrister, in mitigation, said his client was a drug user who had become involved at the behest of others. He said: “He is extremely sorry.”
