Alan Carr revealed he got married in Adele's back garden - and she ordained

Alan Carr has revealed how he and partner Paul Drayton got married in singer Adele’s garden in Los Angeles.

Speaking on The One Show, the comedian, 41, shared the details of his wedding to long-term partner Paul and where exactly they got hitched.

‘It was Adele , she planned it – it was in her back garden,’ he said to hosts Alex Jones and Matt Baker, who could barely believe it.

‘She’s the kindest, sweetest, most generous person ever,’ Carr went on to say of his singer pal, after meeting for the first time at the 2008 BRIT Awards.

Detailing what exactly happened on the big day, he continued: ‘We go in there and there’s a grand piano with a man playing Ordinary People and then she sang our songs with the first dance.’

Having revealed that Adele, 29, organised the entire thing – from sorting the venue, to planning every detail, and even performing at the wedding herself – Carr acknowledged the importance of their friendship and branded the experience as the perfect wedding: ‘It was absolutely amazing.’

He went on to describe his mate of 10 years as somewhat irreplaceable and couldn’t thank her enough: ‘I can never repay her. She’s a one off. As we all know, she’s just the best.’

He also revealed on today’s This Morning that Adele ordained his wedding too, so she was actually responsible for marrying the pair – and in her back garden no less.

‘Adele wanted to organise our special day. She even got ordained!’ he shared.

After the singer hosted the couple’s wedding in her LA home back in January, the newly weds whisked themselves off to Mexico for their honeymoon.

Carr is back in the UK now, ahead of his new show I Don’t Like Mondays, where contestants have to give up their day jobs by way of bringing a letter of resignation to the show as they compete to win a year’s salary.

Catch I Don’t Like Mondays each Friday, 8pm, on Channel 4.
