Sandi Toksvig might be firmly ensconced in the QI host's chair... but panellist Alan Davies has admitted he still misses her predecessor Stephen Fry.

Fry departed the quite interesting BBC panel quiz in 2015, with Toksvig replacing him the following year.

"I still miss Stephen, there's no-one like Stephen," Davies told Digital Spy. "But I feel very lucky that we got Sandi, because it's almost an impossible person to follow. You could think of people you'd even give a trial to on the fingers of one hand.

"But the show has had a shot in the arm, because we have a host who loves being there and loves doing it and wants to be there, rather than a host who's sort of had enough and wants to go and live in America with his husband!

"All good things come to an end and we're lucky where we are, so you have to be thankful, but yeah, I miss Stephen. He's a really special person."

Speaking to Digital Spy last year, Davies admitted that he considered quitting QI when Fry departed, but ultimately decided to stay on.

"On balance, I wanted to stay," he explained. "It's a great job - anybody would like to have my job, so why would you quit? I'll wait until I'm pushed!"
