The Alchemist will launch at two new central London locations.

The popular cocktail bar chain is set to open in Covent Garden on St Martin’s Lane in November. The new venue in the capital’s theatreland will have a capacity of 72 people and take up 7,000 sq ft.

The launch will be shortly followed by the opening of another branch in Old Street in spring 2019 which will hold a 72 person capacity and occupy a 4,456 sq ft space.

To continue the evolution of The Alchemist brand in London, the original bar in the capital (based in Bevis Marks) will undergo a £280,000 transformation in August.

The well-known bar group currently have 14 sites across the UK in cities such as Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.

Simon Potts, managing director of The Alchemist, said: "We are delighted to finally announce these London venues; it's been a long time coming but we feel incredibly lucky to have secured two fantastic locations.

"London is obviously a competitive market but following the success of Bevis Marks, we are confident we can offer a memorable and immersive experience for both residents and tourists to enjoy."
