Aldi has brought back its sell-out festive red wine for less than £4 - but shoppers must act fast. Aldi customers shopping with the chain can snap up the Specially Selected Cairanne from December 2 - December 8, the supermarket says.

But customers are advised to act fast to secure their bottles. Indeed, the supermarket warned: "Blink and you’ll miss it!" This is because, last year, the Christmas wine sold out in record time - with Aldi even imposing a limit on how many shoppers could buy.

Aldi said: "The Specially Selected Cairanne will once again be reduced from £8.49 to just £3.49, saving shoppers an incredible 58% . Selling out in record time last year, it was hailed by experts as the ‘wine deal of the year’." Last year, this critically acclaimed French red sold out in just four days after wine expert, Jane MacQuitty of The Times, hailed it as ‘Aldi’s Christmas present to the nation’.

From 2 December, which is Monday, to 8 December, Aldi says "shoppers can snag this rich and layered red, bursting with aromas of forest fruits, plums, black cherry, and damsons, and boasting a decadent mocha and spice finish."

It explains: "A blend of 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and 5% Carignan, this wine is the perfect accompaniment to festive feasts and cosy nights in. Head to Aldi stores from 2nd – 8th December to grab bottles of the Specially Selected Cairanne for just £3.49.

"But be warned: blink and you’ll miss it!" Mirror Money editor, Levi Winchester, managed to get her hands on it last year and reviewed the bottle, saying the smell was "overwhelmingly that of red fruits". Levi continued, writing in the national newspaper in a gushing review: "It was smooth, sweet and you could really taste the red fruits."
