Aldi's selling XXL Christmas candles for £70 less than 'lookalike' luxury brand

Fans of Aldi’s popular Hotel Collection XXL Inclusion Candle will be thrilled to hear it has returned alongside new rectangular editions. The huge 4.5kg round scented candle costs £24.99, and Aldi's new 1.1kg rectangle version is priced at £15.99.

The statement table-piece candles are guaranteed to turn any room into a winter wonderland and create an air of luxury without a hefty price tag. Shoppers have two scents to pick from - Winter Spice and Scandinavian Forest.

The XXL round candles were snapped up by Aldi fans last year, and 2024 sees the new rectangular options hit shelves. The candles will only be available in stores, but as with any Specialbuy, once they're gone, they're gone.

Aldi says the XXL candles can provide up to 200 hours of rich scent with a cosy, warming glow. Sharing the news of the candles on social media, Aldi uploaded a picture of one of the candles on Facebook, with the caption: "Ask and you shall receive."

In the comments section, one user replied: "I’m running!" Another said: "I NEED this for my Christmas table!" Although the candles look expensive, they are much more affordable than 'lookalike' versions by designer brands.

Shoppers can save themselves as much as £70 on these showstopping centrepieces compared to luxury brand, The White Company. Aldi's Winter Spice Hotel Collection XXL Wax Inclusion Candle is priced at £24.99, while The White Company's Winter Indulgence Botanical Candle will set you back £95.

This means Aldi fans stand to save £70. Other home fragrance options available at Aldi include the store's magical Starry Candle (£3.49) or Diffuser (£3.49).

Shoppers can pick from either peppermint and pine, cinnamon and patchouli or orange and cove. Each is housed in star-printed, coloured glass. Or, for something really seasonal, customers could pick up the Nutcracker Candle (£2.99) and Diffuser (£2.99). These are decorated with nutcrackers and available in a choice of peppermint, clementine or festive frankincense.
