After 17 years taking part in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show it is rumoured that 36-year-old Angel Alessandra Ambrosio has just walked her final runway.

The Brazilian model has became one of the most recognisable Angels, rising to fame in the early 2000s along with Adriana Lima, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks and Gisele Bundchen.

Ambrosio is said to be hanging up her wings in order to focus on her family Anja, 9 and Noah, 5, as well as to pursue other avenues.

In recent years the model has broken into acting and is currently starring in Daddy's Home 2, as well as staying true to her VS roots creating her own swimwear line Ale by Alessandra.

When asked if she was retiring earlier today as she was preparing for the 2017 show backstage in Shanghai the iconic Angel simply responded, "I don’t know".

Speaking to People she said: "I can’t even believe that I’m here still. Never in my life would I dream of doing 17 shows, but I’m very happy to be here in China because it’s definitely the biggest show we’ve ever done."

"We’re on the other side of the world. The venue is so incredible and culturally it’s so different and to be here I feel so fortunate."

Whether it is her last show or not Victoria Secret certainly made sure all eyes were on Alessandra at this year's spectacle.

The brunette beauty first took to the catwalk wearing a body from the Victoria Secret x Balmain collection, which was adorned with Olivier Rousteing's distinguishable studs and embellishment.

The opening Punk Angel section set a new record, as it saw 22 models hit the catwalk, making it the biggest section in Victoria's Secret Fashion Show history.

The model, who has worn the famous Fantasy Bra twice was also given the honour of closing the Victoria Secret 2017 show, wearing a show-stopping red beaded garment.

Rumours of her departure were further fuelled by the fact that the model took her 9-year-old daughter Anja to Shanghai this year, with many thinking it was to support her for her final show.
