Alex Moreno makes 'incredible' Nottingham Forest statement in first words after Aston Villa transfer
Alex Moreno has hailed Nottingham Forest’s fans as ‘one of the best’ in his first interview as a Reds player.
Speaking to Nottingham Forest’s official website, he said: “For me, I think it is a good moment in my career - it is very special. It is a very historic club and I am very happy to here and I am very excited for this season.
“I think, for the big history for this club is amazing. The fans, when I came here last year, the stadium is incredible and the club they trust me a lot for this season.

“Amazing day, not for us in this moment, but amazing for the fans and I am very surprised for them, very loud and the atmosphere [was] incredible. I think it is one of the best Premier League [clubs] for the fans, they push the team.”
The Spaniard joined the Reds on Wednesday after completing a loan deal from fellow Premier League club Aston Villa. Last season, he made 21 Premier League appearances for Unai Emery’s side. His previous experience includes spells for Spanish outfits Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis before making the move to England in January 2023. However, he has fallen out of favour at Villa Park after Ian Maatsen arrived from Chelsea this summer.
From Forest’s perspective, the deal is relatively risk-free and he is likely to be available for Forest’s visit to Southampton this weekend. His arrival bolsters Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad at left-back - the Portuguese was forced to use Ola Aina - who is traditionally a right-back - on the left against Bournemouth last weekend.
Chief football officer Ross Wilson said: “Álex is a player we have had a long-standing interest in so we are naturally all very happy to see him arrive at Nottingham Forest today.
“He has amassed significant experience in La Liga and the Premier League, and he brings all of that quality and experience to our group now.”
