Alex Reid Recreates Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair Cover Shoot: ‘Call Me Roxanne’

Alex Reid has recreated Caitlyn Jenner’s iconic Vanity Fair cover shoot, explaining that he identifies as “trans,” but does not think of himself as a ‘drag queen or a female impersonator’.

Taking inspiration from Caitlyn, Alex has posed in an identical corset with the words ‘Call Me Roxanne’.

Alex spoke as Roxanne inside Star magazine, explaining he relates to Caitlyn and looks at her as a role model: “Ever since I was a child I’ve been happy to dress up and play different characters.”

Adding that he too is keen to speak on trans rights, he added: “Bruce was mocked because trans people are the last social taboo. We don’t have the same rights. Wow, I just said ‘we’. I guess I am. Why not be trans?

“I go to a cage fight and I get 99 per cent love, but one guy will say, ‘Where’s your dress, Roxy?’ They try to belittle me.”

He continued: “I believe in the strong defending the weak. I don’t want to change the world with a gun, but maybe I can change the world with a dress.”

Alex, who is engaged to personal trainer Nikki Manashe, admitted he doesn’t like ‘labels’ when asked about his sexuality, explaining: “I believe we’re all souls. I could have been a woman. When the lights are off, we’re all souls.”

The cage fighter also spoke about ex-wife Katie Price in the interview, saying: “The pain and suffering she caused me and my family forced me to become a survivor.

“It’s still painful sometimes. All I really want is to wave a white flag. I don’t want any nastiness.”
