Alexandra Burke thinks it would be “amazing” if ‘The X Factor’ came back.

The ‘Broken Heels’ hitmaker – who shot to fame when she won the fifth series of the talent contest in 2008 – doesn’t think the programme has “had its day” and hopes if creator Simon Cowell does relaunch the show in the future, he doesn’t interfere with a successful format.

Asked if she thinks ‘X Factor’ – which last aired in its classic format in 2018 – has had its day, she said: “I don’t think it’s had its day.

“As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. With ‘X Factor’, it created so many opportunities and platforms for people – including myself – but you never know, it could come back.

“It would be amazing if it did.

“Absence makes the heart grow fonder so in a few years’ time the people may want it back and Simon’s just gonna have to give in and get it back to its original format.”

And if ‘X Factor’ doesn’t come back, Alexandra is sure Simon will have other ideas to fill its primetime slot.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “There’s always room to create different shows and you just have to gauge it.

“Simon’s a fantastic businessman and I’m sure he’ll have something else up his sleeve.”

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old star is excited for a very busy 2022.

She said: “I’ve got a movie coming out next year called ‘Pretty Red Dress’ directed by Dionne Edwards, which comes out towards the end of next year.

“I’m also finishing off my album in January which will be a lot of fun and then going on tour with ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ from March.

“I’m recording two albums in January – I can’t say which one yet because my manager will kill me! It’s a very exciting project and I’m just excited to get back into the studio, where it all started.”
